Hi

Unfortunately can't find a New Zealand marriage for "a John BUCKLEY and a Sarah"  ?

Do you think they may have married elsewhere ?

I have though found info for "Rotomond"   .... I suspected this might be "Rosamond"  ??

She married twice -

1.     Rosamond BUCKLEY
        Felix BAKER
        Year - 1902   (Folio # 6189)

2.     Rosamond BAKER
        William JURY
        Year - 1918    (Folio # 5741)

yes john and sarah may have married in ireland, or there way to nz somewhere.

But the rotamond person has to be maiden name Buckley married name Jury , as her mother was sarah buckley and rotamonds daughter was rita gladys (sp) Jury married matthews thank you for looking though

Hi

Have found on the cemetery fiche for Te Henui Cemetery New Plymouth the following headstones

Buckley - In loving memory of Sarah 1851-1907  John 1846-1914  Margaret 1878-1957

plus

In loving memory of Minnie dearly beloved wife of William Buckley who died 7th Jan 1913 aged 32 years.  Also William Buckley who died 19th June 1938 aged 55 years.

Margaret and William could be children of Sarah and John Buckley

The only way you might be able to find Sarah's maiden name could be from a death printout.

Thanks heaps Christine

Hi

Regarding Lucy2's message, if Roseamond is the daughter of Sarah and John who married firstly Baker and then seond marriage to William Jury, they are also in Te Henui Cemetery.
Will list details here just in case she is the daughter you are looking for.

From the fiche all four are grouped together.

*In loving memory of Roseamond dearly loved wife of William Jury died 17th March 1963 aged 78 years

*In loving memory of Thelma Louisa and wee Howard dearly loved wife and son of AA Kerridge and loved daughter and grandson of W & R Jury.  Only sleeping.

*In loving memory of William dearly loved husband of Roseamond Jury died 8th May 1944 aged 57 years.

*Our darlings

Thanks heaps Christine

Hi

Re:   "ROTOMOND"

Just to clarify my earlier posting !

1.    There is nobody named "ROTOMOND" appearing on the NZ Marriage index.

2.    It seemed the named "Rotomond" as you had spelled it was quite likely to be "ROSAMOND"  ... and for this I gave you the listing from the NZ Marriage Index for a person named "Rosamond BUCKLEY".

3.     AS PREVIOUSLY stated ...  this Rosamond BUCKLEY, first married
Felix BAKER ... and had a second marriage to William JURY.

4.     So yes, even though this Rosamond was Mrs. BAKER when she married William JURY, it doesn't alter the fact that her maiden name was still BUCKLEY !

Perhaps you could purchase the birth certificate for "rita gladas/gladys" to confirm who her parents are ??

We are only able to give you a limited amount of information
from indexes / cemetery records / and various other sources.       This is meant as a "helping-hand" for you.
If there are doubts about "who fits where" in your family tree, then obtaining BDM records is the usual way to solve these "puzzles".

Christine has given you what seems to be great info for your family, in the cemetery records.    Perhaps read through these and try and work out where these people fit in your "tree".

Some info for "Rita Gladys" follows in next post.

Hi "fruirtburst"

That's OK    Smiley       ... yes, it can get confusing when lots of info arrives, all at once.

re:  Rita Gladys JURY :

(Now it appears that this lady, ALSO had 2 marriages) :

1.    Rita Gladys JURY
       John James MATTHEWS
       Year - 1934     [Folio # 02148]

2.    Rita Gladys MATTHEWS (previously JURY)
       Edwin Daniel McVICAR
       Year - 1946     [Folio # 14185]
