I have a Robeert Cleave with wife Philippa, aged 29, born St Columb Major, on the 1861 census.
A Robert Cleave, married a Philippa Buckthought, in Mar Q, 1858 St Columb District.
In 1841, a Philippa Buckthought, is the daughter of Joseph Buckthought, of St Columb Major. ( Piece: HO107/149/7 Place: Pydar -Cornwall Enumeration District: 6 Civil Parish: St. Columb Major Ecclesiastical Parish: - Folio: 78 Page: 1 Address: Trekenning Higher ).
In BMD, a Jane Buckthought dies, June Q 1841, St Columb District.
I would like the marriage for Joseph Buckthought and the baptisms of the children, if possible please.
thank you

aha Elizabeth is still alive. Joseph is seen as a widow in 1871
They do not appear to be buried in St Columb Major. Joseph lived to a ripe old age dying in 1883. He was from Padstow, Elizabeth was from St Columb Minor

Thanks Kris.
Jane, could be the daughter on the 1841 census, bc 1827. If what I have is correct, the census in 1841, was 06 06 1841 ? I have Joseph born Padstow in Trekenning, in 1851 with wife Elizabeth and daughter Helen ( Ellen of 1841 ? ) Which ties in nicely and explains why no burial ( if my brain is functioning ).

Could Elizabeth, in 1841, be Betsy Buckthought, aged 40 assistant for the Veales ? (Piece: HO107/149/7 Place: Pydar -Cornwall Enumeration District: 6 Civil Parish: St. Columb Major Ecclesiastical Parish: - Folio: 78 Page: 1 Address: Rosesuggan ).
As in 1851, Sampson Buckthought is with them ?

Yes junket,
I think Elizabeth is the Betsey you mention - her daughter was baptised as Betsey yet appears as Elizabeth in census and there is a possible death for Elizabeth in 1861 which may substantiate this (death lists Betsey) Just no luck with the burial for an age etc to prove its her I am afraid. (non conformist perhaps)
Jane buried in 1841 aged 23 was daughter of George and Jane (bap 2 Jan 1818)
Cheers Kris

I have seen a George, born Padstow, ( a butcher ? ), am wondering, if he is connected to Joseph ...........
Thank you, Kris.

WHOOPEE Kris
I have seen a Mary, aged 80 in 1841, too.
Been chasing William 1818 and think I have him in 1841 and 1851 and his marriage.
Thank you so much Kris.
I started this morning looking for an Ellen Cleave, who I found and wanted to tie in her parents, with my other Cleaves, in the St Minver area, I have wandered a little, with Robert her brother.......
