« on: Monday 21 April 08 07:34 UTC (UK) »

I am searching for the birth record of Sarah Scott who married James Edmund Scott in Mountrath 7th Feb. 1840.  She was listed as from Clonenagh & Clonagheen.  He was from Ancaster Upper Canada. I have been looking for the marriage of these two GGreat Grandparents of mine for over 20 years and now have found it but can go no further

Civil registration of births started in 1864 so Sarah will not have a birth certificate. If you know the family's religion nd have a place you could try searching for church records of a baptism (if the records still exist).
LDS catalogue (www.familysearch.org) might have microfilmed copy of church records- do 'place search' (under library catalogue).

On the marriage record of Sarah Scott & James Edmond Scott the witnesses were Sarah Scott, Matthew Butler Scott and John Scott.
