Hi Facellia
Sorry I was not able to answer your query earlier, but as Sillgen said we were on holiday in the Peak District
These are the burials in St John Sub Castro between 1800 and 1993

After 1850 when the cemeteries act came in to force; unless you had a designated plot in a churchyard, most people would be interred in the main cemetery in Lewes.
But I will check other graveyards for you

Hi again
Looking through some of my archives I notice that in 1871 James Kenward aged 38 from Isfield, Sussex lived at No 4 Wellington Street, Lewes where he was a Greengrocer and had a family of 7. In the November 1868 election for the single borough seat at the General Election he voted for Lord Pelham, Liberal as against William Langham, Conservative.
Incidentally there are several other Kenwards mentioned as follows:
Kenward Amram aged 25, Fruiterer/Greengrocer of High Street, Lewes Kenward John aged 48, of Maresfield, Florist in 154 High Street, Lewes Kenward Jireh aged 65, Harnessmaker at 26 High street, Cliffe, Lewes Kenward John aged 37 from Fletching, Brewers Labourer in 4 Cliffe Square, Cliffe, Lewes Kenward Thomas aged 40 from Beddingham, Chalkpit Laboure at Fir Tree Cottage, Cliffe Kenward William aged 43 of Isfield, Gardener in St Nicholas Lane, Lewes Kenward William aged 43 of Fletching, Blacksmith in White Hill, Lewes
I think the two in bold must be related
Chris
