I assume you mean 1908?

Easiest way is to buy the birth certificate. Luton registration district has so many parishes that you could spend ages ploughing through parish registers until you found the right one

Eddie

Have a look through the ''freeBMD'' again

Florence Sophia MORRIS married William Geo W TEBBEY in 1906:

Possible children:

Charles Wm [also, but later, in 1906]
Rose [1908]
William Geo [1909]
George E [1910]
Florence M [1913]
John A [1915]

All in Luton area...

I do not think the "TEBBEY" name is local to Bedfordshire?

Thanks Cathy
Thats the family, its just that i am looking for some comformation for rose like her mothers maiden name to be 100% sure.
Will have to bite the bullet and buy the birth cert as David suggested.
Florence and William are my grandparents and Florence M my mother.
They finished up in Lancashire for some reason and had more children.
There are a lot of my family by the name of Tebby in bedfordshire but i think they did come in from elseware as a lot did maybe for the straw hat manufacturing.

Cheers
Eddie.

Eddie

I dont think your people were Bedfordshire to begin with -TEBBEY is not a Bedfordshire name & apart from your family unhead of  Grin

MORRIS is found everywhere, ofcause, but I dont think she is local either   Sad

I always try not to buy BMD certs where I can as it can get quite expensive so I will try to get the marriage details for Florence S MORRIS & William Geo W TIBBEY in 1906 in Luton?  If they married in Luton that will be OK

Hi
I have the marriage cert for William and Florence.
Have all the info for the family except rose 1908, and William in the 1901 census when he would have been 16/17.
Have nearly all the family who lived around Leighton Buzzard back to Richard c1805.
He is the one that came from another county but don't know which and is the brick wall at the moment.
The Morris family came from Herefordshire.
Find Richard and i will be forever in your debt.

I don't think Richard was from another county. In 1851 he gave his birthplace as Leighton Buzzard

The IGI has a William Tibby and a George Tibby baptised in Leighton Buzzard on 15 Apr 1803 and 1805, sons of John and Mary. John Tebby married Mary Underwood also on 15 Apr 1803 at Leighton Buzzard (known as cutting it extremely fine!).

The only John Tebby buried at this period was on 27 Jan 1842  aged 91 at Leighton Buzzard and  Mary aged 83 was buried on 27 March 1848

I think Richard was probably a son of John and Mary, but proving it is a different matter. But Richard and Louisa Tebby don't seem to have baptised their children as infants so perhaps the family was non-conformist

The William born in 1803 was probably non-conformist as the births of four children 1828-35 were recorded in the Particular Baptist Church book, Leighton Buzzard. Baptists don't practise infant baptism which may be why Richard wasn't baptised, and why  sons of Richard and Louisa were baptised as adults.

This seems to have been the only Tebby/Tibby family in Beds at this time. Neither John nor mary were born in Beds according to the 1841 - there were significant numbers in Bucks, which I suspect is where they may have been from. Pity they both died before 1851!

Hi
I have two marriage records of tebby's.
William Tebby, witnesses Richard Tebby and a regular church witness.
Richard Tebby, witnesses William Tebby and Mary Kemp.
Myself and others have pondered for a while now if they were cousins or brothers and with the info and family you have just sent i am inclined to think they are brothers more than cousins and both are children of John and Mary.

Don't know if we will get anything to be 100% sure but it's as near as you get sometimes.
