Mackintosh/Shaw/McPherson/McGillivray
« on: Monday 21 April 08 19:15 UTC (UK) »

Malcolm Mackintosh b.1845 married Isabella Shaw b. 1856 in the the Parish of Daviot & Dunlichity on 12th December 1879
Malcolm lived at Tomnahurich, Inverness & Isabella at Aberarder.
Malcolm's parents were William Mackintosh and Elizabeth McPherson, they were married at Dunlichity in July 1841. I've got stuck there!

Isabella's parents were Donald Shaw & Christina(e) McGillivray. I have been unable to find their marriage on S. P. Is anyone researching any of those families?

I'm not researching the family myself, but a submitted entry on the IGI shows Donald and Christina marrying on the 11th January 1855 in Stratherroch, Dores, Invernesshire. It also notes Donald died 25th February 1907.

An extracted entry on the IGI shows a Donald Shaw and Catherine McGillivray marriage in 1855.

Thank you Hume24 for that information, I will check with SP and see if I can find and entry using Catherine instead of Christina. I tried all different spellings but got no results. Thanks a lot .

Hi Jeanee,

No I haven't got back as far as Culloden yet but it would be interesting to see if any of the families were involved in the battle.
