Shelton - Death Lookup Please

I have found a burial for John Lawrence on the NBI dated 13 Oct 1847 St. Mary, Shelton, Bedfordshire - aged 86 yrs.

Please could someone lookup for the death of John - I don't seem to be able to find him on Ancestry :-(

Any info would be much appreciated.

Hi Sally

Ages were not shown against the GRO entries until mid-late 1860's

I have checked the full GRO index December qtr 1847 for John Lawrence deaths and these are the only entries for just John

Andover - V7 P30
Wimborne & C V8 P96
W Ham V12 P 191
Thanet I V5 P398
There is a John Charles Bethnal Green and a John Henry Shoreditch

Although his burial may have been in Bedfordshire - he may have died elsewhere

Shelton was in St Neots registration district so although it's spelt differently I think this is your man Smiley

Thanks Carole and Daisy for the information, it's much appreciated.

I had seen the St. Neots one but hadn't found anything to show Shelton was in that Registration District - I will have a go at ordering that certificate.

On FreeBMD just click on the name of the registration district, then on "here" on the next page, and all the parishes in that registration district are listed
