Hi Deb,

I have been playing around with this while you have all been talking so most of what I had to say has been said. I started off thinking it was a simple ohoh little mistake in calculations, 10 years out - she will be easy to find now but alas not so. There was a Annie Isobel registered at the right time but in Durham - couldn't find another with Isabel or like in her name in the birth index. I found that 1901 entry Annie had found and the marriage of John and Annie. (just editing out bits which have been covered) I noted the 10 year old was born in Wales. There is a family in Glamorgan in 1891

John DELLBRIDGE 23, a lab silver works, wife Annie 25, daughter Annie 7 I think though maybe its a 2 - she is Dellbridge, daughter Elizabeth 1 all b Barnstaple RG12/4471 Folio 49 Page 5

Now back in Pilton Devon we have an Elizabeth Morris 68 Widow mother in Law and a Charles E Morris 6 Nephew at the home of John W Cann and his wife Ellen 20 b barnstaple so was guessing this was George's mother and sister RG12/1779 Folio 72 Page 13

1881 we have Ellen MORRISH is 10 widowed Mother Elizabeth 46 in Barnstaple and a grandson James 9 + Boarder RG11/2244 Folio 31 Page 21

Thought it was looking pretty good but alas back to 1871 and there is still no George. I am starting to wonder if father is fabricated. If I have same family Father William - No George, Ellen is not born yet and worst of all There is No Annie. (but there is an Emily) Strangely there is an Emily to fit in Pilton in 1881 living with her widowed father William so I am getting more and more confused by the minute.

There is an Annie MORRISH born Sep 1888 Barnstaple 5b 442 and Charles Edward MORRIS Dec 1885 Barnstaple 5b 448. Nothing like a spot of confusion for you to wake up to. This will get the cobwebs out...LOL

Just wondering if Emily could be Annie Morris/Delbridge and her parents have parted, both declaring themselves widowed. She was not married,  had Charles in 1885 then Annie just before her marriage to John Delbridge in 1888. Think you will need all the certs you can get your hands on here - if of course this is your Annie. If John Delbridge was her father and her parents married soon after her birth, making the 1891 entry aged 2, then seems strange the cert would list her father as George Morris. Of course this could be the wrong family, or John was not her father - her Mother just married him while she was very young - seems to be getting a tad too far fetched - look forward to hearing what her second marriage cert suggests..........Kris  Undecided

Hi Annie ...

I am rather excited as this is a whole new branch for me ...  Grin

just realised that I said I was looking for George in 1881 but meant 1891  Roll Eyes

Found a marriage;
George Morris = Elizabeth Ann Martin
Mar 1876 Truro

realised in my excitement that I have Elizabeth as aged 20 in 1881 and 39 in 1891 ...need to recheck.

Excellent stuff Deb  Grin

I noticed Mary Anne I in the births index but was sidetracked with the wrong girl and didn't think to persue her  Embarrassed

George MORRIS/H has been sent to Cornwall - Crantock is one of my parishes of interest  Wink
