Jane Lowson 1851 Census - complete
« on: Tuesday 22 April 08 07:21 BST (UK) »

Could anyone help me with finding JANE LOWSON in the 1851 Census? She was born in New York NBL in ca 1837 and married George Mason in 1853 in the Chester le Street registration district.
Any help would be most welcome.

Hi Harton,

Do you have their marriage cert showing Jane's father's name and occupation, which might help?

Mary Ann Mason's birth place is Cassop.

I would not necessarily discount Henry Lawson in that 1861 census until you find out the father's name.  There could have been a spelling error in the census.  Occupations change at times.

What parish is New York in Northumberland?

Looking at my Christ Church Tynemouth baptisms -- no Jane Lowson or Lawson.  There is a Paul Lambton Lownson bapt in 1836 with parents Paul and Jane.
