Yes I agree about it being the same Gabriel - his first wife Elizabeth Paterson died c1831 and he married Margaret Anderson on 28/2/1832 at Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.  Gabriel was a Watchmaker and Inkeeper and Vintner and Margaret a Vintner - they were at the Portland Arms Troon by 1837 to 1846 (at least)
I'm wondering if Richard 25 "Independent" was another son - he would have been born c1816 with Ann Douglas 5 being Richard's daughter? I wonder too if John Anderson 20 "Coachman" was a nephew of Margarets? The girls are likely Mary Wallace Howat 18 and Margaret Howat 12 - even though their ages don't match the Census (also Nouat does not make sense as a name). Who then is Jane 45? A bit of a puzzle Roll Eyes
