Hi Jen
Sorry I don't have details of the marriage but can add that the ref. T26 on the Kent Registration Services site refers to, as far as I am aware, marriages that took place in the parish church of St Paul, Ramsgate.

Well the church will definitely help if somebody is able to offer a lookup otherwise there would probably be a choice of up to, say, about 30 different churches and chapels plus the possiblity of a registry office wedding

as he was presumably around for the 1901 census, might be worth a delve to see if he's obvious in Ramsgate area - course they might have moved into the area between 1901 and 1912 ...

Theres a Percy C. boarding with the Millers at 5, Ellington Terrace in 1901 Ramsgate.
He's a 20 year old Pawnbrokers Asst, born Egerton (West Ashford Regn District)
FreeBMD shows a Percy born 1881 West Ashford District, but middle name is Alfred

Hi Tati - saw that, still wrestling with the Alfred name ..... seems to be in the family too ..
I think you've got it !
Sadly, I cant see this research negating the need for the Parish Register lookup or acquiring the Cert ?

Hi all, thanks for the replies. Tati,I think that he is the one, he was with his grandparents on the census. I think his mother is Emily, the eldest daughter of Thomas and Sarah and he was born illegitimately, hence having the name Day, BUT, he could also be the son of their eldest son Thomas who was my 2 xGT Grandfather. The other two children with Thomas and Sarah on the 1891 are the younger Thomas's children, and the only children that up until now we were aware of.
Like I said in an earlier post I can't afford to keep sending for certs , and that is why I requested a look up.
Thanks again,
Jen.
