Hello mbra,

There's no James Usher shown in Griffiths Valuation. It looks as though he may have been a resident master at the school where he was a teacher. The alternative is that the family had left Dublin by the time of the Valuation.

Usher - Griffiths Valuation - Dublin 1848-51
Thomas, Mountjoy Street, St. Marys
? ?, Bride Street, St. Brides
John, Esq., Terenure, Rathfarnham
Richard B., Harcourt Street, St. Peters
Capt. Rich. B., Harcourt Street, St. Peters
Ms. Alicia, Dunleary, Monkstown Road, Monkstown
Ms. Cather, Dunleary, Monkstown Road, Monkstown
Capt. J., Cullenswood, St. Peters
Issac, Esq., Glasthule, Martello Avenue, Monkstown

By the way what denomination were the Usher family?
