I suggest you send a message concerning this to the Rootsweb Clwyd List, where Jennifer Bland-Roberts the Parish Registers Coordinator for Clwyd FHS will maybe be able to provide an answer.I was looking at the very Baptisms this morning at the A.N.Palmer Museum at Wrexham.

Hi Paul Smiley

By the time we are finished you might be sorry you asked Grin Grin  I'm trying to untangle some Carringtons.  They are a very confusing lot Grin Grin

Could I ask you please to check for these baptisms in Wrexham and if located, advise the father's names?
Thomas Carrington August 29, 1824
Anne Carrington January 1, 1826
Noah Carrington July 3, 1831

I'm trying to verify if their father was a Thomas C or a Francis C.  Mother's name will probably be Mary. the Minera PRs have a possible brother Moses, s/o Thomas & Mary bapt Oct 7, 1827 and a John (1829-1902) s/o Francis & Mary

There is a Wrexham marriage November 8, 1823 between a Mary ROGERS and either Thomas or Francis Carrington (1792.1847).   I was told by cousins that the marriage was for Francis.  Now I've been told by another researcher that the marriage was for  a Thomas C.  If in fact this is Thomas's marriage, who did Francis marry??  Or if it was Francis, did Thomas marry someone else??  So now I'm really confused Roll Eyes

I think that both of them were sons of my 4G GF -   Thomas, a base son with Elizabeth Hughes, baptized in Wrexham August 5, 1783, and Francis, legit s/o Thomas C & Jane Foulkes. My 3G GF was another son John born 1795 who married Barbara Jones in Wrexham 1820.  I haven't discovered any other information on Thomas junior other than the baptism and he was not mentioned in his father's will from 1827.

Mary Rogers Carrington apparently died and was buried on October 1, 1832 (Wrexham?).  There may be a notation as to her husband's name which might help figure this out as well.

Hope you can help Wink
Heather

PS  I've just been reading Francis will where he mentions he is the father of Thomas, Anne, Moses, John & Noah by his first wife and Robert by his second wife.  Huh

Hi Heather.
I checked the 1832 to 1837 St Giles  micro film and there were no Carrington marriages.
The 1813 - 1832 is on another reel and I didn`t have time yesterday.

Dear Paul

Thank you for your help.  Believe it or not this particular generation was relatively easy - best not to ask about the later ones as it got much worse as time went on Grin Grin.    I have 25 John Carringtons, 21 Francis Carringtons and 14 Thomas Carringtons in my grandfather's Carrington tree.....

Hi Paul

Thanks to a great start from a Carrington cousin, who is also the new editor of Hel Achau, I have nearly all the Carringtons mapped out from the 1840's on.  (Cue an enormous sigh of relief from rootschatters!)

We may never be able to prove conclusively where John Carrington and Anne Blunt came from when they married in 1743 but now that the tenth generation is coming "on line"  their descendant count is well over 400 - and that's just the ones I've been able to trace through the censuses and various cousins.  Many of the girls married Joneses, Roberts & Williams etc and their descendants are very difficult to follow - as we all know Grin

Hi Paul

I've been reviewing all these dates and wonder if I could impose on you to doublecheck the year of baptism for Francis - my 2xG grandfather.  I have him down as 1828 not 1825??  Censuses and death certificate all match with 1828 - typo??

There should also be a
Frances (Alice) d/o John & Barbara July 21, 1821 and  a
Thomas s/o John & Barbara April 1, 1826
floating around there somewhere as well  Roll Eyes

They really are the most exasperating family.  A lot easier to find than Jones but frustrating to put in place and stay there Grin Grin Grin

Thanks
