I am looking for the descendents of Frederick Seeley Jervis b 1846 in Stoke on Trent and living with his parents in 1861 in Harts Hill Stoke on Trent. He had some unusaully named siblings: William Percival Jervis, Eliza Bridges Jervis, Mary Hemans Jervis and Charlotte Elizabeth Jervis.
I cannot find him in the 1881 census or the others apart from William P, and there doesn't appear to be a death which could be his.
I would appreciate it if someone could find him in the 1871 census or later to see if he married and had offspring.
many thanks
Regards
Graham

Hi Graham
Marriage

I went about this the difficult way, trying to find the detail of earlier censuses first!
Kind regards, Arranroots

Nice one, Barbara!
Contradicting (possibly) the birth above - there is this
DEATH
Charlotte Elizabeth JERVIS
Dec 1869
Newcastle L 6b 50
aged 23
Could be Fred's young wife?
Edit: alternatively there is this one!!
Jervis Lucy Mary 52 Chorlton 8c 571
Sept 1904
Need to search some more censuses!

(why Nantwich/Crewe I wonder)
Well ... there is a family that resembles the one we are looking for in Cheshire in 1871 - except that the father William is now a platelayer instead of a bookkeeper, as in 1851 and 1861.
Do you know if the whole family went up there, Graham?

Which family?
Frederick's parents are still in Staffs, Shelton in 1871, father Wm a cashier as he was in 1861
The family I found with Charlotte Gregory 1861 are still in Newcastle u Lyme in 1871 minus Charlotte
Still looking for Frederick in 1871, and rest of family except for William P in 1881 (I think!)

Gosh looks a bit of a problem I have set.
I also had the marraiges of Amelia Constance and Mary Hemans in Cheadle and William Percival married also in Cheadle so I though that the family may well have moved to Cheadle by 1871 and it is possible that the Frederick L Jervis is a mistranscription of Frederick S Jervis. The strange thing is that there is no marraige or death record of Frederick S (or L) Jervis in Freebmd.
Regards
Graham

Found Frederick in Freebmd - without the "k".
Could you let me have the 1871 census record of Fredericks parents please?
I wil check the emigration records to see if he is listed.
Regards
Graham
