Can't you just go into each one and turn off the 'notify me' button on the top right?
Or have I misunderstood ?

Using the notify button just stops you being sent a notification. Any reply will still result in an entry in your "new replies" list. The good news is that any thread will only have one entry in that list and so if you leave the entry there by not viewing the new reply no new ones will be added for that thread.

I was no longer interested in seeing responses to "What's playing on your CD?"
I'm a bit sick of "What's Playing on your CD?" too. I can disable being notified of messages, but can't get rid on-going messages in my "New Replies" Box. In fact there are 3 that keep on popping up, and no doubt will appear forever?
Hope this thread won't be another one of them................................
