Deleting "New Replies"
« on: Wednesday 23 April 08 10:44 BST (UK) »

Hope there isn't an obvious answer to this...but hope there IS an answer.  I've done a search with no success.

I have a half a dozen, or so, items in "new replies to your posts" that I am no longer interested in following.  These are mostly topics that I made a reply to, but now are not of relevance to me.

I know that I can choose to ignore when I get an email notification of a reply, but how about from the new replies page itself?

Thanks!

Nick

Hi Nick,

Unfortunately I don't think there's a solution.

I have lots of those! I just quickly click on the topic name without reading it to get rid of the topic in my list.

Nick

Can't you just go into each one and turn off the 'notify me' button on the top right?

Or have I misunderstood ?

Using the notify button just stops you being sent a notification.  Any reply will still result in an entry in your "new replies" list.  The good news is that any thread will only have one entry in that list and so if you leave the entry there by not viewing the new reply no new ones will be added for that thread.

Thanks all.  I really have to quit posting at 2 - 3 am my time when all you eager morning people are just getting started!  Or at least not check new replies before tuning off my computer Grin

Carol,
That's a good point... I actually knew it somewhere in the back of my mind (FAM - or forget always memory), but wanted a lazy person's global delete function to use after I realized that I was no longer interested in seeing responses to "What's playing on your CD?"

Regards,

Nick

I was no longer interested in seeing responses to "What's playing on your CD?"

I'm a bit sick of "What's Playing on your CD?" too. I can disable being notified of messages, but can't get rid on-going messages in my "New Replies" Box. In fact there are 3 that keep on popping up, and no doubt will appear forever?

Hope this thread won't be another one of them................................ Sad

Carol's suggestion worked perfectly for me for all but one thread that doesn't have a "Notify" button.  I click on the thread I no longer want to track from my "New Replies"; click on the "Notify" button and click "Yes" (I think... did them all last night at 4 am); and then hit back button to go back to new replies and do the next one.
