I am looking for the resting place of my Mum's Grandparent's
Edwin Stonehouse b 1877 Kirby d April qtr 1941 Durham W
Elizabeth Ann Stonehouse nee Jefferson b 1869 New Shildon d March qtr 1907 Auckland Co Durham
In 1903 Edwin was living at 3 Magala Terrace New Shildon. He remarried in 1908 and was living at 10 South Street New Shildon.
Are there any cemeteries in New Shildon ? Are they on line ?

PS He married in the Parish Church New Shildon on both of these occasions.

You'll find their phone number & email address on here. They'll tell you if they are buried at West Road Cemetery & for free.
St John, Shildon & All Saints, New Shildon both have churchyards, the registers are at County Hall, Durham.
I think the MI's have been done for the churchyards.

I have had a reply from Shildon Town Council.
My family are not at West Road Cemetery but they have given me other avenues to try.
Congratulations to Shildon. I have never had a reply this quick before (Not even from family )

Have just received an e-mail telling me i can pop into Bishop Auckland Register Office and i will find what I'm looking for. ( Address supplied )
They have the Registers for St John Shildon and All Saint's New Shildon. This should also have the children born to this couple.
At least Shildon knew i was in New Zealand.
So i am now waiting to win the lottery over here so i can POP IN
