Royal Air Force (Joy)

Hello All
Im trying to find any information on my Grandad William Charles Walter Joy
He was in the Royal Air Force. He was at the Fall of Dunkirk. He was in Norway and France. He also worked the search Lights at the Cliffs of Dover.
Can anyone help me please.

What kinda things are you most interested in?

If he was in the Air Forces, perhaps he was on planes who flew into the areas you have mentioned?

I dont think he was on the Planes. I want to statrt with one thing at a time and see if I can find anything with his Name and get the Information.

I would have thought the only way to get any info is to get his service record, by the sounds of things, would have thought he was some sort of ground crew, he might have serviced the planes or could have been one of them that protected the airfields. There is not a lot of info that you can get off the net, but good luck anyway Wink

Yes I need to find his service record but dont know how to do that.
He was living in Suffolk county, at the time of his serive. His family was anyhow.
