Florence BLAKE
« on: Tuesday 29 April 08 20:04 BST (UK) »

I know there are many Blakes, but would somebody know of a Florence (Rosina?) Blake born in 1876 and who died in 1970 and who married a Henry Walker in 1893 ( I think). I'm searching for her parents and brothers and sisters, can anyone help??

Thank you!

Steph.

It would be best to purchase the marriage cert to be sure of the correct fathers names.

In the 1881 census there are several Florence Blakes born c1876 to be sure of choosing the right one.

Getting the marriage cert will give you Florences fathers name and occupation. This is the only way of making sure you are following the correct family.

You can buy certs from here.

Do you recognize any of the names, as I say you need to back it with with certificate information.  Undecided

Just want to save you the heartbreak of following the wrong family. Kiss

Well I am  only just starting my researches and I was born over 100 years after that census, I never knew Florence and not even her son George, who is my grandfather. So I have no way of remembering any old stories or anything. As you say, the only way of checking is through a certificate, so that's what I'll do. Smiley

Thank you very much for your help, it's very kind of you. Wink
