Edmundbyers, Graveyard inscriptions
« on: Thursday 24 April 08 20:16 BST (UK) »

Hi. Here is another list of gravestone names. This time for Edmunbyers.
Beddicott, Barker, Carr, Clark, Dodds, Eggleston, Earl, Featherstonhough, Gibson, Hunter, Hamilton, Hutchinson, Hudspith, Jackson, Jopling, Johnson, March, Marshall, Nixon, Parker, Readshaw, Rowland, Robson, Stobbs, Stephenson, Sanderson, Steele, Whitfield, Ward, Wall.
Like Garrigill, Alston and Mugglewick they are not in a very good condition. ( The dreaded lichen)

You can download a copy of the Edmundbyers headstone inscriptions from www.gravetext.co.uk in PDF form. I run the site; this is not an attempt to publicise the site - it has already been mentioned by other correspondents on these forums. However, my attempt to upload the PDF directly was foiled by the size limitation - the file is 515K. By all means use it for your researches but please respect the copyright; there is a lot of work involved in these and other transcripts on the website.

Hello pb3. I know the problem. I have 10,000 inscriptions and there is no way that I can put them on a website,
That is why I put the surnames on the board and if someone wants a look up I will do it for them.
I also have a problem with some old films that I have (oldish)
well  1950 and1960's of garden fetes for St Mary's catholic Church at Stockton. Some of the children on the film  may be grandparents themselves by now.
I did get a price for converting them to disc but it was going to cost £200
I may find a solution some day.
