   Hi Spec,
Thank you so much for all the info. Your brother-in law's great-grandfather was my husband's great-grandmother's brother. She was Isabella.
Alfred Courage and Isabella Mcrae had 5 daughters, They were : Fredetta ( Etta ) Courage-- Bella Jane Courage...Alice Courage--Jessie Courage...And Mary Ann Courage.------Mary Ann married married Alexander Irvin Drummond, They had a son, Alexander Mcrae Drummond and I think when they immigrated to Canada, they had a daughter, Mary Etta Drummond.
Grandfather Drummond went to university in Aberdeen and became a Lawyer. We're trying hard to get info on the Drummond's place of birth.
          Thank you to Gadget also....Dru

Hi spec

Based on the 1871 census, when mother Ann was living with him, this looks like your Roderick:

Urray, Ross & Cromarty, b. 13 June 1824, bpt. 16th June 1824. parents - Donald McRae and Ann Forsyth (IGI)

            Hello Gadget,

I'm searching for information on the family of " Alexander Irvin Drummond. All I know is that he was born around 1888, somewhere around Aberdeen, Inverness, Huh
Alexander married MaryAnn Courage/Mcrae and they had a son, Alexander Mcrae Drummond, before they immigrated to Canada.
We find it hard to research without dates and names of cities, towns , etc.
Hoping someone can help. Thank you........Dru.

A`carter was someone who transpoted good around:

http://www.scotsfamily.com/occupations.htm

and scroll down to carter

I'll look the family up on the 1891 and 1901 census but I can't give you a full list as after 1875 births aren't up on the free familysearch site and I'd have to go to the pay to view site Scotlands People which I've done already with Alexander. You could register yourselves:

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

I'll see what I can find on the censuses and then tell you how to do the searches for yourselves  Smiley
