Hi diddy

I thought I explained it okay on reply 476 .   Sad

Maybe I didn't explain it clearly enough.

Hi Diddy,
that is so exciting to see the artiicle in print.  I am hovering round this thread today  with great optimism that someone with some knowledge will respond.
Well done!

[For picture resizing, if it is all a bit hard, go to the very end of the link that the mod posted and use the 'shrink pictures' link facility.]

It is v. straightforward and safe.

Diddy,

That's great to see the story in print.

Now we just have to wait and see if anyone knows of  Alfred Parr's family.

Sue,
Thanks for posting the information regarding Allison's resting place.

Oh Dear,
Well, I'd better stop hovering in that case Grin

Yes, Sarra.  I always feel it completes things in a history if you can just pop in that last place.

ok folks - hold your breathe - the Echo has emailed me with the followingi nfo:

A Norman Brown from Mansfield (Notts area) has contacted them . Alfred parr was his mothers stepbrother. her name was Ruth newbon. I have his phone number.

Also a Derek brown rang but the chap dealing with it didn't speak to him. I also have his number.

Should i just contact them and point them towards Rootschat?

Most are sleeping.   Smiley

Would be a brilliant idea Diddy.

By doing both they may wish to join in the story or give you information
that you can list here.

ok we  are sorted!!

Just had a chat with  Derek brown - he has all Alfreds papers and things/will/records etc. Nick rang him yesterday and Alfreds crosses are on the way to England to Derek. The other - Norman Brown is Dereks brother.

Derek is researching the family history himself so i have directed him over here.

Great news - and thanks diddy  Grin. And excellent that he has been doing his own research into his family so has a genuine interest.

He must have been surprised that people in Australia have been looking for him!

Diddy,

Just great we did not have to wait very long after all.....just one sleep Grin.

Now we will be able to get the story from the other side.

I'm sure it going to be very interesting.
