Hi Liz
Have you tried the Moray Libindx? There is at least a Robert Hutchison born c 1807, a Charles born "pre 1908" , and a likely looking ALLAN KING HUTCHISON who died in 1996. There is a varying amount of information available for each entry, some have dates of birth, spouse details, occupation, address, next of kin etc, others just have a year of death. Definitely worth a look.

Hello Liz,
The definitive website is unfortunately a pay per view site - www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk - buying units at £6 a go - which would allow you to download 5 'extracts' of birth marriages or deaths - or copies of census records if you were to get a first time hit. The site is free to register and do some basic searching. free to search for wills up to 1901.
if you live in Scoland there are other options.
For example:Aberdeen Registrars Office (as do many others in Scotland), - has Scottish Birth Marriage and Death (BMD) records online going back to 1855 and up to the present day (for Scotland). Also have Old parish Records (OPRs). Charge £15 per hour. An hour should be more than enough to get a good core of info. They can be contacted on 01224 522033 or e-mail: Searchroom@aberdeencity.gov.uk They're really friendly approachable and professional. Will save you days and pounds ++ on Scotlands People.
The link below indicates their services: http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/acci/web/files/rm_registrars/rm_registrars_family_history_leaflet.pdf
Regards, Steve

Hello again Liz,
Do you have the parents names of both couples from the 1901 marriage.
I've looked on the IGI - www.familysearch.org - 15 James Hutchisons born in Scotland in 1873. Only 1 in Moray - b. 28 Dec 1873 to George Hutchison and Jessie Walker.
If you supply the parents names - I'm sure others can pitch in and get your family back.
Births forward from 1901 are going to be more difficult to tie down.
Have just come off Scotlands People (SP) entering the name Hutchison and births between 1901 and 1925 in Moray brings up a total of 21 - some of which have the same name as yours.
However - only 7 are available for download - due to date limitations . The others would have to be ordered- at a cost of ?£10 each.... However, if you live in Scotland a visit to a Registrars office with internet facilities would be much much cheaper, as indicated in my post above.
Regards, Steve :O)
