Can any one assist in providing information about the family of  Elizabeth Bowman, namely her parents & or siblings, born abt 1844 West Pitts, Byers Green, Durham & married in Auckland 1869 to Thomas Howe.

Quite a few Elizabeth Bowman's in the area and there were two that seemed mostl likely.  It would be best if you got the marriage certificate which would tell you the both father's names and occupations.  You would then be able to find her in the census most likely with family.
They were not married at the parish church in Byers Green so probably at the registry office.

thankyou Janis,  I was on a bit of a fishing trip here, not sure whether her maiden name was Bowman or Watson.  I will check the marriage details to determine if this is indeed the correct Elizabeth.

You might be better getting a child's birth certificate first then you will know her maiden name!
