George Murray born about 1865 & his wife Jane Murray born about 1867. They should have children William born 1887-89, Rebecka or Rebecka Jane, & possibly Wilhemina or Min. I think they lived right in Dundee but not positive.
Thank you, Lisa

Thank you!! Those are definitely the people I'm talking about.
William Murray had a son named Alexander Briggs Murray who died in WW2 & is at the Commonwealth Graves site. It states his fathers name as William George Murray.
Alexander Briggs Murray is named after Jane Murrays' second husband Alexander Mitchell Briggs.
I'm trying to determine where the Murray children end & the Briggs children begin. Wilhemina could be either.
I have my grandmothers original marriage register (1919) from Scotland & on it she states her father as Alexander Briggs & mother Jane Matthew. My grandmother is Henrietta born Apr. 18 1897 Dundee. We've been under the impression that Wilhemina is older than Henrietta but are unsure.
If you ever need a look up for Canada don't hesitate to contact me. Lisa
George Murray married Jane Matthew in the district of Lochee, Dundee City in 1889.
The info comes from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk (you’ll find people calling it SP) This is the official govt website, lots of interesting stuff can be found - mainly from your grand and gt grandparents backwards.. Basically a per per view site - buying 30 units at £6 a go - but a lot of free searching can be done. Also free to register. Well worth registering and having a look around.
With the info from 'ev' you can now locate the birth entry for Jane in New Machar Aberdeenshire. (just to the north of Aberdeen)
£6 would enable you to download 5 'extracts - either bmds( They give the same info as certificates),cor copies of census records. . Janes birth entry will give you her parents names and occupations - and addresses as well as mothers maiden surname. With that info you'll be able to search for sibling to Jane on the IGI - or ask for help :O)
Hopefully someone with access to the 1901 census will pitch in with that census with the Briggs family on it .
Regards, Steve :O)

You have been so helpful & I have been able to clear up some of my questions by looking at the censuses. Having the location of Jane's birth, location & year of her marriage was a BIG bonus.
I'll be sure to register & look around at Scotlandspeople & then go from there.
