Rowlands family history
« on: Sunday 16 January 05 23:20 GMT (UK) »

I am seeking info about the family of my gt gt grandmother - Hannah Rowlands b. 1831 Hawarden/ Buckley. She married Joses (Joe) Ellis (b.1829) in 1850 at Chester (St. John). She lived in Shropshire - Oswestry -area in late 1850s/mid 1860s. After her husband died in 1891, I think she returned to live in Hawarden area, and married another gentleman called Joe Ellis. I would be grateful for any info on the family.

Hi Susan
I don't know what census years you have for your Ellis family, but I have found 1871-1901, also searched the 1851 but it would appear  they may be in Shropshire then,as they were in 1861, as there is no signs of them in Chester area.
In order to find the Rowlands in 1841 I would need Hannahs fathers name, from the wedding certificate maybe ?
The reason for this is that the 1841 is not name indexed, but the 1851 is,so if I can find the father 1851 then go backwards to 41.
The only other problem may be that they are in an area of Flint that is not covered by one of the Cheshire census pieces.

Hope the above makes sense Smiley
