Can anyone see John Cornelius Whipps and family in the Romford area in the 1841 census? He was a painter and in 1845 his daughter , Elizabeth, married in Great Ilford

Catone Thanks for the info. On the marriage certificate there is not a 'residence' given for Elizabeth so working at the lion Inn is very probable. Her age was 24 in '51 and 36 in '61 so the age also fits. John's occupation was painter on the MC. I'm not sure if that is Canvas or House Painter.!!!
Can you see John and Mary in the 1851 census?

Naomi, 13, pauper, birthplace NK, is the Romford Union Workhouse
HO107/1772 Folio 198 Page 13
and in 1861 shes a servant in Great Yarmouth St Nicholas RG9/1194 Folio 26 Page 2 (Joseph Greenhow is listed as the Head, the rest of household seems to be boarders and servants)
Can't view the images dues to problems with ancestry 
Will see who else I can find.....

Theres a "Christoph" Whipps age 18 visitor b. Ilford, in Romford Essex HO107/1772 Folio 98 Page 13. Others in the household are listed as Charles Mathew, wife Sarah Elizth, children Emma Elizth 16, Caroline Charlot 11, Eliza Maria 9 and Charles Thos 5 (+ 3 other visitors William Bennet, Richard Bothell and George Green)
I can't view the image at the moment because ancestry is playing up again!

Thanks again. It's a pity John can't be found in '51 as this may have given a clue to where he was born. I do not know if John and Mary had a son called Cornelius but must be a strong possibility as John's second name was Cornelius. The details of the record could be useful, thank you.
