Hi - interested in this thread because I looked up the Dipnalls in 1841 for Duck.
This census ref. for 1851 which Medhist has given, Samuel and Mary Ann in Odiham, has Mary Ann born in Berkshire, not Hampshire. I checked 1861 and 1871 - still born Berkshire and b. 1818.
I think this pair is Samuel White and Mary Ann Brookman, married Q4. Reading, and Mary Ann was baptised in Tilehurst in 1818.
Given that Duck's Mary Ann was born in Portsea in 1828, I looked for another Samuel White, and found a widower in Portsea in 1851, and also a death for Mary Ann White Q4. 1849 in Portsea, plus a birth and death both Q4. 1849 for a Samuel Thomas White in Portsea. Mary Ann's father was Thomas...
I think this is the correct pair
