Can anyone help in finding a birth for Elizabeth Julia Fletcher
Born 1875/1876, on the 1901 Census she has place of birth St Geo East

Are you sure its Elizabeth Julia and not this lass, who I suspect is the one on the 1881 census, parents Arthur and Henrietta ?

The family is still in Poplar in 1891, and she's calling herself plain Elizabeth then ..

Hmmm, I suspect she wasnt born a Fletcher ...... doesnt seem to have strayed too far from St Georges .... maybe a FreeBMD search for someone with those forenames might help - altho of course she may not be registered there .....
Any witnesses names look familar ?

Her marriage cert states Fletcher, she is my husbands grandmother.
on my husbands Mothers birth cert it states Mother Elizabeth Julia Nee Fletcher.
Have looked on free bmd but can't find her.
Witnesses on marriage are on her husband side

Witnesses are on Husbands side - reinforces my gut feel about her !
No sign of her in the area 1881 / 91 just using age and forenames - as you say no Birth Index entry in the St Geo* Regn District.
Followed Ben Brooke back and looked around his are in earlier years too .....
bit of a mystery - maybe somebody else will spot something ?
PS. The only lass in 1874 - 1876 timeframe St Geo* East with those christian names was a Brown .....

spelling isnt a problem - I just totally omitted surname to see the Elizabeths / Elizas born 1874 - 1878 in that area, and looked at the surnames closely in case it was a total mash !

Hello all
Have looked into Elizabeth Julia Fletcher again and as stated an Elizabeth Julia Brown was found in the yrs 1875 on FreeBMD .Sad to say also her death a year later Sept Qrt 1876, both in St Geo East.
Will have to look at all spellings on the original registers.
