Dear Sue and Susan
I have no idea of the Batchelors dates. Are there any records of him James Sidney Batchelor migrating to Victoria? All I know that he was a prominent land owner in Heidelberg VIC and paid for Henry and Harriet Bennett to migrate from Wotton Under Edge GLS to VIC. AUS. 1863. Henry Bennett was born 1839 Synwell Wotton Under Edge GSL and Harriet Bennett nee Grimes b. 1842 Wotton Under Edge GLS. It was just a thought that James Batchelor had a Wotton Under Edge connection??? Depends if this James has a death record in WUE? If it is James it will be a great help.

Hi Velcro
Haven't found a burial record for James Batchelor (the baptism found by Sue) W-u-E or surrounding parishes. Also looked in 1841, 1851 and 1861 census without success.
There's a burial of a James Batchelor 1812 Shortwood Baptist, may be a relative?
Marriage of William Batchelor (widower) and Mary Barr 18th July 1819, Wotton under Edge, by banns (possible parents of James 1826)
Post a request on the Australia board for James Batchelor immigration. Found a possible marriage for James Batchelor in 1859 Victoria, so immigration would have been prior to 1859 http://members.aol.com/GMA529/B-M-A.Page3.htm.
Regards
Susan

Dear Susan Might be coincidence but from the records you forwarded found
BATCHELOR, James CM 46945 Marriage Spouse: BEESON, Mary Ann Reg Year: 1859 Reg State: Victoria Ref Number: 2601
On of my Bennett's mother inlaw was Hannah Beeson. Long shot but Hannah Beeson born Derby. Actually it is Henry Bennett's nephew's mother inlaw. My Henry Bennett b. Wotton Under Edge.GLS Possibility??? Any English records on a Mary Ann Beeson ? I will also check IGI.
