son of who?

i have a joseph pescod CLASPER m in 1897 gateshead to either margaret hannah bilclough or mary ann bessford
then there is a joseph pescod CLASPER being born in gateshead in 1900 which i guess is the formers son

but cant work out who the joseph that got m in 1897 who his parents were
there are two josephs born in the clasper family
one to a robert and eliz in 1855 in witton le wear but dont know his spouse and issue
and a joseph pescod clasper who was roberts brother who app m a margt hall in 1848 but dont know thier issue
can anyone straighten out the dilema for me pls

The 1901 has a Joseph Clasper b 1873 Gateshead wife Mary Ann and son Joseph Pescod so that should enable you to look for him on the 1881 census and to look for his birth.  A copy of his birth cert will give you all relevant info

So the above show his parents were Joseph and Margaret of Whickham.  The different birthplaces for him I wouldn't worry about.  Margaret consistently was born Jarrow. Many of the places were in the Gateshead district or nearby

Robert and Elizabeth were living at Whitton le Wear in 1861 and their son Joseph was 6 so not the right age to fit Joseph who married in in 1897
