The IOW FHS have indexed the BMD records and they are searchable here:

The important thing is that all mothers' maiden names are recorded for the births, all partners' names are recorded for marriages, and all ages at death are recorded for deaths.
It really is an invaluable resource and I keep plugging it (see the Isle of Wight Resources thread stickied at the top of the Hampshire Resources board.
