Can anyone give me any details on the above person. I came across him by accident and think he may be linked to my family. I have tried to find out the names of his parents and any siblings, but to no avail.

I can find a number of Archer families, but not a Richard baptised there around that time - certainly not in Romsey.
Elizabeth Candy was baptised in Breamore 21 Nov 1817, parents Charles and Mary Candy. So if she was inaccurate about her place of birth, I wonder if Richard was too?

There is this Elizabeth Candy 1841 census Breamore Hampshire born 1817 age 22 F servant born in county
also here she is 1851 census Elizabeth Candy servant born 1817 unmarried Breamore Hampshire

Nicola, I think you need to tell us where you found him and any details that go with it. We need to work backwards from there.
A Richard Archer did marry an Elizabeth Candy, but which ones were they?
