McCrea George missing
« on: Sunday 27 April 08 17:03 BST (UK) »

This is a long shot in the dark.
Looking for George McCrea who emigrated to Canada in 1906 sailing from Londonderry. Destination Montreal via Quebec. Single at that time.
Can't find him on 1911 Canadian or any USA census.
Believe he sent a watch home which was manufactured around 1916.
He was born Belfast 1874.
This is all I know.

Parents were Samuel McCrea and Margaret Wilkinson.  As far as I am aware they were both deceased by the time George left for North America.

I'll just attach the directory street listing in case someone wants to find the other side...or so that I can continue tomorrow...

Here's one in ST. Anne's ward... born in Ireland 1862 but that could be an error and it's also under McCrai ??

http://www.automatedgenealogy.com/census11/SplitView.jsp?id=116350&frag=e083/e002073260&dir=1911b

Checked with ancestry and the address is 120  Colborne

Yeah,  that's the only George McCrea  listed in Lovell's...The age matches the date so it's probably not a mistake...I should have waited for someone with ancestry to pop in before looking, sorry Jeff....

Then there is this one "Georges " McCrea born March 1874...but this one says born in Quebec...which also could be a mistake...  and looking at the original image I wouldn't have even bet on it being a capital C....
Also check out the address..St. Alfred...No number...

Hopefully a marriage pops up ....Drouin files aren't all indexed as yet...Never know...
