Hi,
I have ancestors who lived in Bridge, Kent, UK - may be a distant link but it would be interesting to check it out.  Charles William Howard is my great grandfather and his father, Charles Edward Howard were both Veterinary Surgeons.
I have more information if you feel there is a link.
Regards,

Hi & thanks for replying.

I have most of my information in NZ and have to wait until the container arrives in Brisbane.  That won't be for a couple of months.  One of my cousins might send some info to me that I originally gave her.
Attached is a reply I received to my noticeboard on Ancestry.co.uk.  My grandfather Ernest Henry Howard and one of his brothers aren't on the 1881 census as they were elsewhere.  Ernest was boarding & both brothers were working.  Ernest came to NZ in late 1800's and married a NZ lady.  He became a doctor in NZ.
I was interested to find out that my gg grandfather was a vet surgeon like my g grandfather.  A cousin was telling me recently that her sister (lives in UK) knows the place where he worked.  Apparently there is a statue of a horse out the front - I guess they had stables and were landowners.
If you keep me in touch with the info you have or get we might just be able to tie it all in - how exciting.
Our family were lucky to share some of the info from the english side of the family but my grandma destroyed most of my grfthrs photos etc as she was a bit jealous (damn) he had a good upbringing and she felt that because she was adopted, she wasn't as good.  Her birth mother came out from Scotland and were a farming family.
I find we are getting more info these days about her that we never heard of before.
Charles William Howard had a second marriage (presume his 1st wife died of illness or in childbirth) but I don't have info on any children he had to first wife - if any.  His second marriage was to Annie Maria Coleman.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Regards,   Vicki
