I thought the programme was brilliant.Went to a book launch at Waterstones once were Michael Wood was speaking, there were so many there we were sat on the stairs. We met him afterwards while he signed books,he's a really genuine person, enthusiastic about his subject. But on a different subject,I wonder if any of Christina's descendants were watching the programme?

Looking at the various records that he consulted, in that writing and in Latin, I wonder if anyone has got back that far, if they are in her line.  The two daughters survived, it would be interesting to work forwards from them, but it's a lot of centuries - 500 years to the first useful census!!  But I bet it could be done.

I had bookmarked the iPlayer location so I could watch it when I had the time. The time was tonight.

But no, they won't show it to me because I don't live in the UK.

I was so looking forward to this, especially after reading all your comments about how wonderful a programme it was. I am utterly, thoroughly and completely bummed.

Cheers,
China

They say they're working on an international version of iPlayer, and to check back with them periodically...

I really enjoyed this programme too.

I'd forgotten how much enthusiasm Michael Wood has for his subject - and such flair for 'bringing it to life'. Not in the least bit stuffy.

Trouble is, now I really want to trace at least one of my branches or twigs back to the 14th century - it's going to take an awful lot of doing (the best I've done so far is 16th century)!!
