The IGI has a Thomas Rolfe baptised 27 Apr 1766 parents Thomas and Elizabeth Rolfe Dymchurch Kent. This is an extracted entry. That is what the entry states so don't know if that is mother's m/s as well.
The parish registers for Thanet St John (Margate) covering that time period have been transcribed and indexed online http://barry-white.members.beeb.net/
Having looked quickly, I couldn't see his baptism or marriage there - what is your source for these events?
Well heres the problem. I have been researching the Barry White site but have also found a site titled Roaf family of Margate www.shelwin.com/e/Ancestry/Laming/roaf.htm The folk in this tree I agree with (from Barry Whites site)accept where I come to Henry Roaf married Smith Laming and they had a son Thomas and he married Mary Merserve White in Massachesetts.
Now my Thoamas Roaf (Henry/Smith Lamng) married Ann Smith. One of them is right and one is wrong. My thoughts are that someone in america has been researching their Rolfe/Roaf/Ruff family and found this and thought - thats the one. I dont know where to look now to find proof that my one is correct.

Although I can't see the direct names that you mention in the will indexes, I wonder if you have explored wills? There are ROFE, ROLFE, ROOFF Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury wills for Margate persons http://www.kentarchaeology.ac/ekwills_a/index.html and there is a will for a George ROOFE, mariner of Margate, proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury 1743. I will say, though, that I have found some wills of seamen to be very scant http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/wills.asp
