Irish in Hull

The majority of Hull's Irish were Catholics. 2,983 Irish were born in Hull in 1851. In one street there were 300 people living in twenty houses ... each house had four rooms.  http://tinyurl.com/5njo72

Hi Christopher,

Just wanted to say thank you for posting this link and the information; 300 people living in twenty houses, it doesn't bare thinking about.

The article is so correct that people were very proud of their Irish roots, when I first started looking for my husbands great grandfather, the family and distant cousins were all adamant he was from Ireland, when in fact he was born in Bradford, West Yorks and it was his father that was born in Ireland.

Thanks again
Kath
