IGI is the International Genealogical Index -

www.familysearch.org

The IGI can be found under the search tab.

It's a large collection of data on bmd from around the world - although obviously not complete.  Extracted entries are reasonable accurate - although you should always check against the originals.  Submitted records are from other researchers and are often (!) a lot less aaccurate (!)

Have you tried this site where the IGI is located, extracted means it as come from the records. submitted is sent in.

Thanks Jim, I've already been caught out on that one with the Rhodes/Roades bit. I don't know if they're correct but i followed the links for parents on Samuel and ended up with Egidius born about 1615 in Wolstanton Stafford who married Jane in 1633. It's going to be interesting trying to link that lot up don't you think.
