Good afternoon,
I wonder if any one can help ?
Ellen HARRISON (who married Thomas PATTINSON in Upleatham on 25.04.1846) was born in Hurworth in 1818 probably. She was baptised at any rate on 31st May 1818.
Ellen's parents were:
William HARRISON, possibly born Darlington, but not sure, c1790) Alice HOPPER, born in Hurworth 1789, baptised 27th December 1789.
William & Alice were married on 3rd March 1809 in Hurworth. (I'd love to discover more details if possible)
William & Alice appear to have had 5 children (that I have found to date), all born in Hurworth: - Thomas b. 1816, baptised 02.04.1816 - Ellen (Eleanor ?) b. 1818, baptised 31.05.1818 -Jane, b. 1825, baptised 25.03.1825. I suspect 2 others: William, b. c1826 and Ralph b. c1830.
Alice HOPPER's parents were probably Robert HOPPER & Alice ??, probably married around 1784.
So far I have found 3 children for Robert & Alice: Jane b. 1785; Anne b. 1786 and Alice b. 1789, all born in Hurworth.
If anyone could throw extra light on the above family I would be very grateful, such as any other children, dob's, etc.
Many thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick, Checked the IGIs can't see a marriage for Robert and Alice. The only Robert Hopper I can see in the right timeframe in the whole of England married surprise, surprise in Hurworth.
ROBERT HOPPER = ANN AMORY 6th June 1775 Hurworth on Tees Durham.
Three children listed for this couple,ROBERT ch 13th Apr 1776,MARTHA ch 2nd July1778, ANN ch 20th July 1783.
May not be your family but worth considering
Val

Thanks Val,
I think I'd seen this one, but put it to one side because of Ann and not Alice. But you may be right, that it would be worth bearing in mind.
Many thanks for your time.

Hi Nick
Bishop's Transcripts for Hurworth, Durham can be searched at
http://search.labs.familysearch.org
You probably already know about this site but they are indexed as HARWORTH.
I've had a quick look and found baptisms for children of William and Alice Harrison
Robert 1809 John 1810 John 1814 (though I didn't see a burial for the first one) Thomas 1816 buried 1828 Eleanor 1818 Mary 1821 Christopher 1824 buried 1825 Thomas 1829 died 1830
Alice HOPPER buried 1824 aged 69
The page for marriages in 1809 seems to be missing!!
I'm sure there will be others of interest to you so, maybe when you have a few hours to spare, you can have a trawl!!
Cheers

I've tried looking at the link you gave me, but it appears on first sight to be largely US transcriptions. The only GB listing was Cheshire.
How to you get at the Bishop Transcripts you mentioned ? I'm not trying to be obtuse, but maybe I'm missing something !
