Hi, I've trawled through the awful local Library microfiche collection here in Vic searching for the following. I wonder if you might be more successful. I am pretty certain Vic is the only state of interest. Thanks if you can spare the time. (1) Lily Aileen Parrett. b. 1894 (Aust) Fath. Alfred Arthur Parrett. Moth. Martha Parrett (nee Daniels) who lived around Richmond/South Yarra in 1890's & onwards No further info. Did she marry or die we wonder.
(2) Jessie Parrett. b.14/2/72. Fath. George James Parrett. Moth. Eliza Parrett. Accompanied other family members to Aust. in 1895 per "The Orient" 1912 Electoral roll lives in Richmond aged 40, unmarried .
I cannot find anything further on her. May have made a late marriage, died or gone home again to England!
By the way, does anyone know a way to find passenger list for this era of people going to Uk from Aust? Best Regards, Sue

Hi Wendy, No , He is not my primary interest at the moment as iihave a bit on him. however, if you absolutely "fall" onto something, do pass it on as one never knows what can be unexpectedly turned up in this fascinating game!

Hi Sue,
My source is the Inquest Index for Victoria 1840-1985
No age given but the reference no. is 224
Inquest date 19/2/1953 Notes- other date is 4/3/1953
You will get more info when you order the certificate using the reference No. 224
Go to:- www.dvc.vic.gov.au/
and you can download images immediately for a reasonable fee (A$17-50) I think.
Best of luck and hope I haven't upset you with this info.
Wendy

Hi Sparrett On 1936 Australian Electoral Rolls, Lily Aileen is still living with her parents Alfred (an importer) and Martha (home duties) at 33 Fawkner Street, S. Yarra.
In December of 1916, on board "Ventura", Miss Jessie Sparrett, age 44, Nurse, born England, stopped over in San Francisco on her way to London.

Hi Valerie, That was kind of you to dig up my old rellies. [Every pun intended!] Chatting to an older family member, I learnt that Lily had a severe hearing problem and never married. The extended family were not particularly caring of her I am told.
Yes, it looks like Jessie returned to London, though I do not know how she became a 'nurse' after always being a shop assistant.
War time I guess so perhaps she got a calling. I don't suppose she ever returned to Aust.
Thanks for your information.
Sue Sue

Hello there Sue and Val
I am wondering on the Nurse maybe she travelled as a nurse companion? Do you know what I mean... someone who was a travelling companion to a aged or infirm person. It would be interesting to see if she was travelling with someone.
kind regards Jenn
