where is the air force section?
« on: Tuesday 13 May 08 15:16 BST (UK) »

I have been away from RootsChat for about 6 weeks. Before then I'm sure I was posting in discrete sections for the RAF, Navy and Army.
Now, I can only find Armed Forces Resources, WW1 and WW2.

Please put me straight!! Thanks very much.

Hi Tony,
That's a good question Cool Where is the RAF section Huh

I had a look at the Armed Forces Resources section but there's not an RAF thread there.

This link takes you to the threads relating to the RAF on the WWII board.

I don't think we have ever had separate sections for the different services, nor do I think there are any plans to change that.

Thanks everyone for your speedy replies!

I should have headed my post 'Where is the navy section?'.

I had been in touch with someone who thought he might have known about an accident to a Sea Venom from Ark Royal  which disappeared in the Med off Sardinia in 1956.

I remember at the time wondering whether I should post to the RAF or Navy section as my brother (RAF attached Fleet Air Arm) was lost in this incident with his pilot.

I have checked 'last posts of this rootschatter, as suggested by ShaunJ. My posts on other matters are there but not this one!!

Nell doesn't think that such sections ever existed, so I am extremely puzzled!!   Tongue

Hi Tony

A sad and regrettable incident.

You can post military inquiries on the Armed Forces board - best to use the general board if it is not one of the World Wars.

Kind regards, Arranroots  Wink
