Mother and I, Mablethorpe, 1955

Can anyone please do me a look up on the 1861 cencus for a family called Allen, in Carlton (or it could be Carlton in Lindrick) Notts.
I have George Allen, age 30 head
Jemima Allen, age 33 wife
Joseph Allen, age 8 son
Ann Allen, age 6, daughter.
I would like to know where both George and Jemima were born please.

Hi Pat,
George is listed as being born at Anston, Yorkshire, and Jemima was born at Everton, In Notts.

Thanks Paulene,
I can now start to trace them back pre 1861, see if I can find their marriage, and Jemima, who has changed to Janina in 1871,'s maiden name.
Back to Ancestry then,

Hi Jane,
No, I haven't found her either!I'm sitting here bleary-eyed and wondering if they ever got married at all .  I've looked at all the possibles from 1848-1854, and nothing. 
I've found her death in 1875, but nothing else apart from 1871 and 1861 cencuses.
I haven't looked for George on previous yet. I have been looking for him on 1881, and the only one I am coming up with is listed as born Sheffield, living with a Henry Raterforth, who is also untraceable apart from that cencus (think the name must be a misprint) and an Ann Allen, so if it is him he must have married again.
Think I'll go to bed now, and start again tomorow night.

Hi Jane,
Thanks for the night-time vigil. I have,only the free view BMD,so the details you have found would be most appreciated, especially the marriage.
What I normally do is work through things that I want to know, and note down possibles, then when I have a list, I pay for 12 views on Ancestry.This isn't a perfect system and I do end up sometimes using my credits on the wrong people, but I get along like that.
Information from people like you since I have found RootsChat have helped me enormously. It really is very good of you to give up both your time and your resources , and it really is appreciated,
