Forkhill Parish - Link
« on: Wednesday 30 April 08 22:26 UTC (UK) »

Forkhill Civil Parish from Lewis Topographical Dictionary, 1837
www.from-ireland.net/arm/lewis/forkhill.htm

Forkhill Village by John McCullagh from an article in the Newry Journal. www.newryjournal.co.uk/content/view/590/36

Mary Choppa, the President of TIARA, was surprised to be  shown the complete 1821 census for the parish of Forkhill when she visited a Co. Armagh historical society.
It's in a history published by the Society: "Kick Any Stone: Townlands, People and Stories of Forkhill Parish" The census was found in a set of estate records that were still in private hands and had not been donated to an archive.

Christopher,
Thank you for this link. My great gr mother Eliza Ann McNeill was educated and married at Forkhill.
I found her mother, Jane Stewart McNeill in 1901 census at Carrickasticken.
I visited last year and found the place where she lived.
I will investigate this link further later!
