There is no marriage that looks likely for her parents or any census details
showing them in Shutlanger in 1841/51 either.

Normn Tew http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/6222/index.htm
has a couple of Thorpe surnames noted on his indexes but not in the
time frame /place you want.

Is there anything else you know that could help pin-point Sarah for us.
