Coomber family Wrotham
« on: Thursday 01 May 08 08:45 BST (UK) »

Is anyone else researching the Coomber family of Wrotham? In particular I am looking for more information about Henry Richard Coomber b. 1836 and his parents Henry Coomber (b.1801) and Louisa b1806 in Ryarsh.

Henry married Mary Bennett (b.1835 in Seal - d.1866?), whose parents may have been Thomas b.1811 in Sevenoaks and Mary b.1811 in Wrotham. They had 6 Coomber children born in Wrotham:
John 1853, Henry 1855, Arthur 1859, William 1861, Ada 1862, Ann 1864.
Henry then married Ellen (b.1838 in Deptford) with whom he had another 4 Coomber children in Wrotham:
Mary 1868, Ellen 1869, Elizabeth 1870 and Thomas 1871.

Hi David

I'm not researching them but doing a parent search on the IGI ie. entering just names of parents and district http://www.familysearch.org brings up baptisms of several children to a Henry & Louisa COOMBER - could these be siblings for your Henry bc1836 or what there more than one Henry & Louisa COOMBER having children in that area at that time Huh

William 1825 Addington
Elizabeth 1827 Trottiscliffe
Rebecca 1829 Trottiscliffe

The records I have only go up to 1812 for Wrotham & 1811 for Ryarsh, but this might be useful to you.

Wrotham Baptism

10th March 1800  Henry  son of Samuel & Eleanor COOMBER

Samuel & Eleanor had two more children baptised, let me know if you would like the details.

If you could pass me the details, I'm sure they will come in useful.
What is your source?
Thanks

The other two children of Samuel & Eleanor COOMBER baptised in Wrotham:
19th Dec 1802  Thomas
10th Mar 1805  William

The other Coomber couples having children baptised were John & Mary, Samuel & Anne, & Thomas & Elizabeth.

There's one Coomber Marriage between 1558-1812, no Coomber Burials, but three COMBER burials. I'll be happy to give you the details if you need them.
