There is a product called UNDU which is photo safe and acid free, used by many scrapbookers etc. It's made by an Australian company (I thought it was American till i just looked !!). Here's their blurb........http://www.timbermate.com.au/products/undu.html
I have just used it on my Grandad's WW1 RN photos, with excellent results. Not sure if it's available in England, but scrapbooking is popular over there, isn't it? Smiley
Good luck

Hi Jo  Smiley

Thanks for that info - sounds like a good product for around the house, but if it does not specifically claim to be safe for photographs then I would advise against using it on photos or other precious items.  There is always a possibility that the solvents in these products can seep through to the emulsion side of a photograph and cause problems there, or cause ink to run and other horrors.

Just my professional opinion!  Wink Grin
