Topic: Where are records kept for Alderly and Kingswood near WUE (Read 310 times)

I need to know where the records for Alderley and Kingswood Wotton under Edge are kept is it Bristol records office or Gloucester as a friend in Bristol will go and get copies of documents for me if they are in Bristol.
Gloucester is a bit further away for her to get to so some information on this would help me out.

They should be in Gloucester, because they fall within Gloucester diocese although there is an outside chance that some civil records for Kingswood are in Wiltshire, since that is one of the places that "swapped" counties in the 19th century (1844 in this case).

Bear in mind that Kingswood, although in the diocese of Gloucester, was until the mid 19th C a Wiltshire "island" therefore if you want to check entries in the Hugh Wallis site or the IGI, you'll need to go to Kingswood Wiltshire.
Checking the Source Call for an entry in the Kingswood batch reveals that in 1965 the records were in Gloster library but by now they should be in the R.O. I suppose.
