Thomas Rockall m. at Watlington?
« on: Friday 02 May 08 08:06 BST (UK) »

Did Thomas Rockall m. in abt 1744, at Watlington ?
A son Samuel was c. 24 Feb 1744 (son of Thomas & Elizabeth), so I hoped there might be a marriage record?
Huh

Are there perhaps other Rockall marriages listed at Watlington?

Hi Pat

There is no marriage for Thomas in Watlington at that time - in fact I could not see a likly one at all in the Oxford marriage index, so you may have to look over the boarder,  the only Rockall/Rockwell/  etc one around then in Watlington is 1731 May 2nd William Rachel to Sarah Wright

Thanks for checking for me.
I remember someone saying that there was a gap in the marriage records for some years around that time? It was suggested that the vicar probably hadn't got around to entering them in the register, for a while??

Maybe I am thinking of another parish....

Ah well, if not at Watlington, then they could have tied the knot down Hambleden way... or maybe not?
