The coloured image looks wonderful.

Apart from the clothes, of course, the family look very "modern" if you know what I mean - could be a family from today.

oisinhi1,  I agree, the photo looks wonderful in colour and is brilliantly done, as are they all.
I am always amazed by the 24 children too.  I imagined that there would be several sets of twins too but I have only found 1.  I haven't found all the births though.

If it's a record they are welcome to it. It's not one  that I would like to emulate.  Shocked

IgorStrav, I often feel that old photo's that have been coloured look more modern.  They really bring people to life and I can see several family likenesses now, including my  grandma and myself.  She is the little girl on the right.

Elin, I have been trying to work out the ages.

Did your grandma have a twin?  Is it the little girl on the extreme left of the front row?  They look very much of an age.

And I wondered if the little boy (in red in the coloured version) next to his mother was the twin of Paula's favourite, the determined little madam with the folded arms.

IgorStrav,

I have just been checking and don't appear to have any twins in this first ten.

The eldest child is Nellie who was born in 1884 and I would imagine is about 12/13?   Then we have Joseph 1885, Charles 1887, William 1888, Elizabeth 1890, Louisa (Grandma) 1892, Gwenllian(Paula's favourite) 1893,  Blodwen 1896, Anne, 1898 and Hector 1900 : Roll Eyes
